Accounting Manager - Nicosia - Competitive Package
We are helping an established professional services firm recruit an Accounting Manager to oversee accounting operations.
This role is focused on managing and reviewing accounting work, overseeing VAT and other statutory submissions, preparing financial reports, maintaining strong client relationships, and supervising members of the accounting team. You will need to be an experienced accounting professional with strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines effectively.
Responsibilities
-Manage and oversee the accounting operations
-Review accounting records and ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable requirements
-Oversee the preparation and submission of VAT returns and other relevant statutory filings
-Review bookkeeping activities, including invoice postings, bank reconciliations, and supplier reconciliations
-Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports
-Monitor client accounts and ensure all accounting deadlines are met
-Supervise, support, and review the work of junior and experienced members of the accounting team
-Coordinate effectively with other departments, including Audit and Tax
-Manage multiple client assignments simultaneously while ensuring high-quality and timely delivery
-Prepare reports and financial information as requested by management
-Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and the overall development of the team
Requirements
-Holder of a degree or professional qualification related to Accounting, Finance, or a relevant field
-At least 5 years of recent practical accounting experience, preferably within an accounting, audit, or professional services firm
-Previous experience supervising or reviewing the work of other accounting professionals Strong knowledge of VAT and accounting procedures
-Excellent knowledge of accounting software
-Strong understanding of financial reporting and accounting principles
-Excellent command of the Greek and English languages, both verbal and written
-Strong communication and client relationship management skills
-Leadership and team management skills
