NOC Support Engineer – Nicosia – Competitive Package
We are helping a well-established telecommunications organization expand their technical operations team in Nicosia.
This role focuses on ensuring the smooth operation and availability of global voice and SMS network infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for 24/7 network monitoring, incident management, proactive troubleshooting, traffic analysis, and supporting customer interconnections while gaining hands-on exposure to networking, VoIP, SMS, and international telecommunications technologies.
Responsibilities
-Continuously monitor international voice, SMS, VSAT, TDM, and VoIP links to maintain network availability and performance
-Respond to network incidents, alarms, and outages according to established procedures and protocols
-Use a ticketing system to log and track network incidents and service requests
-Ensure timely response to incidents, document resolution steps, and escalate issues when necessary
-Take proactive measures to address network anomalies and performance issues
-Implement preventive actions to reduce incidents and improve network reliability
-Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, procedures, and incident reports
-Update network diagrams and documentation to reflect changes and improvements
-Troubleshoot and analyse network issues, including taking traces for SIP, SS7, and SMS flows
-Analyse network traffic patterns, volume, and quality to ensure optimal service delivery
-Proactively identify and investigate irregularities or anomalies in voice and SMS traffic
-Monitor the status and performance of network equipment and assets
-Oversee customer interconnections to support efficient voice and SMS traffic exchange
-Collaborate with team members to resolve network incidents and ensure continuous service delivery
Requirements
-Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field will be considered an advantage but is not mandatory
-Previous relevant experience will be considered an advantage but is not mandatory
-Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols
-Knowledge of VoIP and SMS technologies
-Experience with ticketing systems for incident tracking will be considered an advantage but is not mandatory
-Good analytical and problem-solving skills
-Strong communication and collaboration skills
-Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
-Ability to work under pressure and effectively collaborate within a team
-Flexibility to work within a 24/7 shift environment
-Relevant certifications such as Cisco CCNA or CCNP will be considered an advantage

-Salary Range: 1200-1400 gross per month
-For the first few months of training, employees are not required to work night shifts
Working Hours
The shift schedule is communicated in advance for the entire month.
-Shifts include:
Morning Shift: 08:00am–08:00pm
Mid Shift: 12:00pm–05:00pm
Night Shift: 08:00pm–08:00am
-The position operates within a 24/7 environment
